Male Domestic Abuse

“I felt invisible before I became supported by MDASS. Now I feel like I’m a person again that can be heard,” S.A.

This is the newest of the Rowan Alba Services, provided and managed jointly with AMIS (Abused Men in Scotland).

MDASS offers support to men in Edinburgh affected by domestic abuse. This affects many men in the city, regardless of age, class or anything else.

There is a Helpline which takes calls from men experiencing domestic abuse, concerned friends or family members, and other services looking for support.

If you live in Edinburgh you can also be referred to a one-to-one worker based within Rowan Alba. The one-to-one worker will develop a bespoke support based on your needs. It’s our support, your choices.

Any men living elsewhere in Scotland can benefit from ongoing telephone support e.g. someone to talk to, someone to liaise with services on your behalf. We will also try and find an appropriate local service that can provide one-to-one support.
